Seña y Verbo´s most recent production, ¡PAAH! , is an array of short plays written by the renowned authors David Olguín, Víctor Weinstock and Flavio González Mello, directed by Alberto Lomnitz. Each play presents a personal point of view on Deafness and its impact on the individual and society.
The plays were developed specifically for adult audiences and are presented in Mexican Sign Language and spoken Spanish simultaneously, accompanied with live music, sound track and video projection. For international tours with non Spanish speaking audiences, double translation of the play by means of supertitle projections and a local sign language interpreter on one side of the stage results in a fascinating theatrical experience occurring simultaneously in four languages at once!
In order to satisfy the particular time needs of certain events, one, two or all three of the short plays may be presented. The full show, with all three plays, lasts approximately two hours and fifteen minutes (including intermission). The plays can also be performed in reduced format, so as to reduce touring costs and setup times.
